Strategy means 'a global plan to reach a long-term goal,'
Tactics, on the other hand, means a short term plan or behavior

One uses tactics (little tricks) in a strategy (long-term plan).

"Strategy is doing the right things, tactics is doing things right."
Tactics are the meat and bread of the strategy. They are the “doing” aspect that follows the planning. Tactics refer specifically to action. In the strategy phase of a plan, the thinkers decide how to achieve their goals. In other words they think about how people will act, i.e., tactics. They decide on what tactics will be employed to fulfill the strategy.
The tactics themselves are the things that get the job done. Strategies can comprise numerous tactics, with many people involved in attempting to reach an overall goal. While strategy tends to involve the higher ups of an organization; tactics tend to involve all members of the organization.

Goals ‘“ has the word ‘go’ in it. Your goals should go forward in a specific direction. However, goals are more about everything you accomplish on your journey, rather than getting to that distant point. Goals will often go into undiscovered territory and you therefore can’t even know where the end will be.
Objectives ‘“ has the word ‘object’ in it. Objects are concrete. They are something that you can hold in your hand. Because of this, your objectives can be clearly outlined with timelines, budgets, and personnel needs. Every area of each objective should be firm.

Goals ‘“ I want to be a better ball player. I want to learn more about Chinese history. I want to maximize my professional performance.
Objectives ‘“ I want to memorize the periodic table before my next quiz. I want to increase my sales by 10% this month. I want learn to play ‘Freebird’ on the guitar.

...currently I have been promoted to Associate Director of Operations based on how I handled the last dilemma. It is now my responsibility of the implementation of a new security system that requires each employee to have a photo taken. This change in security measures resulted from a former employee breaking into a lab causing damage and the hospitalization of an employee who had found the intruder. The dilemma that I am faced with here is that Aisha Mullah who is a Muslim women, is required to keep her face covered at all times with the only exceptions being in the company of other women or close relatives. In which in this case the photographer is neither, a photo simply showing her eyes would require her to remove her head scarf to verify her identity. For Aisha this was not something she would be able to do without going against her faith. As in the first dilemma, I must decide who will be directly affected by my decision. I have determined those individuals to be: VP of Human Resources, myself, shareholders, New Hires and Training Manager, Aisha, and other employees. Also by deciding the basic liberties; I am able to come to the decision that it would be best to implement a photo I.D. security system in areas of the building which contain secure information and designate who has the authority to make exceptions. ...Mustalliq expedition when a Muslim force was sent to face an amassing army. During this expedition, Aisha was accompanying the Prophet (pbuh). The expedition was a success and the enemy retreated leaving much of the war booty behind. Soon the victorious Muslims were making the long march back to Madina. One their return journey, the Muslims would camp during the night and travel during the day. When they reached close to Madina, they setup camp. Aisha had gone to answer the call of nature and had managed to lose the necklace she was wearing. She is Director General of the Islamic Education Trust in Niger State, Nigeria. Reprinted here is part of a talk she gave (and part of the discussion that followed) at the International Islamic Conference held in London. Perhaps the aspect of Islam in respect of women which is most prominent in the Western mind is that of polygamy. Firstly let me clarify that Islam does not impose polygamy as a universal practice. The Prophet himself was a monogamist for the greater part of his married life, from the age of twenty-five when he married Khadija until he was fifty when she died. One should therefore regard monogamy as the norm and polygamy as the exception. One may observe that, although it has been abused in some times and some places, polygamy has under certain circumstances a valuable function. In some situations it may be considered as the lesser of two evils, and in other situations it may even be a positive beneficial arrangement. The most obvious example of this occurs in times of war when there are inevitably large numbers of windows and girls whose fiancés and husbands have been killed in the fighting.
