...Technology seems to develop at the speed of time. There is always something new and exciting on the horizon that someone is talking about. The last place that you would think you would have a negative experience with technology is on vacation; trying to enjoy the sun atmosphere of a place other than home. This is exactly what happened to my Uncle Bob; he was stopped for speeding in Florida. He answered the Law Enforcement Officers’ questions calmly and was then placed into the back of his cruiser. The process by which the Officer obtained the information is very routine; personal, one-on-one conversation. Many people do not realize it but when they are talking to an officer of the law, that person is constantly being evaluated; verbal and non-verbal. The officer is always taking in information no matter now simple is may seem. While Uncle Bob was being questioned he provided the following: his name, birth date, height, and weight, and resident state. As this is the basic form of information gathering the officer then would have entered the information gathered into their regional type database. Once the officer relayed the specific data to the regional office or agency the bigger wheels started to turn. This would have been completed either via radio and the distant end using a searchable database to input Uncle Bob’s information or the officer might have had the means to affect this himself. ...Championship (Bobby Knight 2). Bobby Knight graduated in 1962 and became the junior varsity coach at Cuyahoga Falls High School in Ohio (Bobby Knight 1). After coaching at Cuyahoga, he was hired as assistant coach at the United States Military Academy in 1963 at West Point in New York (Bob Knight 2). He was assistant coach for two years and in 1965 he became head coach. He left the United States Military Academy 1971 to take the head coaching job at Indiana University (Bobby Knight 1). He unfortunately did not win any post-season ranks while head coach for the Army. Bobby Knight gained most of his fame during his years at Indiana University. He coached there for 29 years (Hammel 87). In those years, he won numerous championships and tournaments. These are what are known as his glory days. He captured his first NCAA championship in 1976 (Bobby Knight 2). Having the education that Knight had in military history earned him the nickname “the general”. Dick Vitale, a broadcaster for NCAA basketball, gave this nickname to him. Of his 29 years at Indiana he won 3 national championships. The first NCAA tournament that Knight won, they created the perfect season, a record of 32-0 (Bob Knight 4-5). He also won national titles in 1981 and 1987. The so-called protagonist is a person by the name of Bob Knowlton, who is the lead on one of the projects at Simmons Labs. Bob reports to Dr Katherine, another important part of Simmons Labs. The third important person in this case is Elliot Haywood. He is a new recruit into Simmons Labs and at the outset, expresses interest in joining Bob’s team. Bob Knowlton: Bob is someone who has been with the Simmons Labs for about nine years when the case is prepared. He is shown to be someone who thinks like old school scientists who believe in the trial and error method. He tests rigorously before coming to any conclusions and is meticulous about the details. He does not hesitate spending time and poring over any analysis or decision. At the same time, even after being a nine year veteran, he still seems like someone who is still finding his foothold in the firm. He spent his early childhood with his mother, Cedella Marley, sharing a tiny shack made of corrugated metal and wood in the mountainous countryside. “He was my first-born and very precious to the family and friends,” Cedella reported in Jim Henke’s essential sourcebook, Marley Legend: An Illustrated Life of Bob Marley. “He was always a jolly, happy little man.
