01 02 04 22 24 27 Kyosei : Canon’s Corporate Philosophy Message from Top Management Canon Now Excellent Global Corporation Plan Phase IV Canon up to Now Activities Focused on Tomorrow

The corporate philosophy of Canon is kyosei. A concise definition of this word would be “Living and working together for the common good,” but our definition is broader: “All people, regardless of race, religion or culture, harmoniously living and working together into the future.” Unfortunately, the presence of imbalances in our world in such areas as trade, income levels and the environment hinders the achievement of kyosei. Through corporate activities based on kyosei, Canon strives to resolve imbalances in the world. Truly global companies must foster good relations, not only with their customers and the communities in which they operate, but also with nations and the environment. They must also bear the responsibility for the impact of their activities on society. For this reason, Canon’s goal is to contribute to global prosperity and the well-being of mankind, which will lead to continuing growth and bring the world closer to achieving kyosei.

We aim to transform ourselves through flexible ideas in response to the changing times.

2012 is a year Canon embraces new challenges. In 2011, we faced many ordeals, beginning with the Great East Japan Earthquake. But Canon has always viewed a challenging environment as an opportunity for great advances. Addressing the needs of the changing times flexibly and with inspired ideas, we aim to return to a path of growth. And to promote further growth, we will steadily move forward with Phase IV of the Excellent Global Corporation Plan, the company’s medium- to longterm management plan launched in 2011, in accordance with our…...

The Foundation of Orthodoxy and Formation of Canon

...Daryl Miller CHH301-B12 LUO September 11, 2012 Paper 1 The Foundation of Orthodoxy and the Canon If we consider that what we know as Christianity is not what it began as, then we will see the need for a standard. That fact that Christianity as a religion and a worldview was revolutionary as is was also evolutionary. It was revolutionary in that it stood against the norm of Judaism and paganism. It was evolutionary in that what it was then is not what it is today. Therefore, the need of orthodoxy and for cannon is presented. Orthodoxy is the “correct, conventional or currently accepted beliefs, especially in religion.”The consolidation of power under Constantine and the stretch of the empire caused a need for orthodoxy of Christianity’s belief system. It also demanded a standard of doctrine. This leads to the canonicity of the Holy Scriptures. Canon is derived from the Greek word kanon. Elwell says of the word canon, “in Christianity [canon] refers to a group of books acknowledged by the early church as a rule of faith and practice” The word carries the idea of the measuring rod or standard against which the sacred text are weighed for inclusion. It should be noted that different faith systems have different canonical books. The Jewish canon is different from the Protestant as is the Catholic. If we bear in mind that the Bible we know today did not start out as a book at all, and then the logical progression must be to ask, how did it come about? An important note...

...The New Testament Canon The word “canon” is a Greek word, “Kanon” it means to rule or measure; a standard by which something or someone is judged. Canon are closed collection of documents are books that have been accepted as authoritative (Kostenberger, Kellum & Quarles 2009, 3) Not everyone is in agreement concerning what books or how many books to use however; there are a lot of religious organizations that accepts the New Testament collection of 27 books. And although canon is the history of the process of how these particular books came together, greater concern and focus is placed in their value and being recognized as sacred scriptures (Kostenberger, Kellum & Quarels 2009. 3) THE OLD TESTAMENT FOUNDATION The NT gets its foundation from the OT; it is here that the prophecy of Jesus being the Messiah is fulfilled, the death of Jesus in conjunction with the establishment of a New Covenant, all which is the main focus of the Old Covenant and its canon (Origin of the Bible). Jesus inspired His disciples giving them a promise that God would send a comforter in His name, and that comforter is the Holy Spirit which would direct them in all truth, show them future events and would give them the words to speak (John 16:13 KJV). God had a divine plan from the start. He said that the Word was from the beginning and that it was not only with Him but that it was HIM (John 1:1-2 KJV) He then opens our eyes and reveals that the Word was made into flesh and lives among us, we can...

From 1989 to 1993, each year Canon has been among the top six companies to receive patents in the United States, as a result of a large number of innovations taking place at the company. Canon has followed product focused development to gain understanding regarding the feasibility, target market and possible applications to other products via diversification. Canon’ strategy has been to continually build products that are original and use a cost effective technology. They invest significant resources in the research and development of the technology which is headed and guided by the Executive community, and communicated using a top down approach. The middle management and development team work together to solve technical problems and create environment for innovation. Product development projects are taken up to establish potential applications using the research carried out, and are reviewed for feasibility and technological impacts on the products. The customer needs are not considered at this stage so as to not limit the team’s perspective over developing the application. Once the projects pass the feasibility and impact test, they are set to target a single product to be built using the technology. Finally, diversification of application is carried out by applying the core technology to a number of different products. ......

The Rev. Canon

...the people (Gen. 41:46), so Jesus is 30 years old when He provides the wine for people at the wedding feast (see Lk. 3:23). And just as Pharaoh’s words about Joseph – "what he says to you, do" – came when Joseph enters into his reign, so Mary’s words – "do whatever he tells you" – come when Jesus begins His public ministry with the first miracle in His kingly mission.  Marriage: John uses Marriage as the feast where the miracle was carried out. This by no means has a lot to teach us. John’s Gospel goes further to highlight this marriage symbolism, using the word "marriage" itself twice in the opening three verses of this story (Jn. 2:1-3). With this emphasis on the marriage, one would expect to read about the bride and groom. However, the narrative tells us nothing at all about the newlyweds themselves. Instead, the two main characters in the focus of this story are Mary and Jesus. Some have suggested that Mary and Jesus serve as the symbolic bride and groom, heralding the restoration of the marriage covenant between Israel and Yahweh as Hosea once foretold. With Jesus, this is clear. Jesus is identified in the Gospel of John as the messianic Bridegroom (Jn. 3:29) and He is the main actor at the wedding at Cana, providing the messianic wine in the context of a marriage feast. To this end, it is clear that virtually all we shall discuss in this passage of the scripture are anchored on obedience, Trust and faith as the key words. For this reason, we may not waist much time......

The Canon

...The Formation of the Canon, 5-6 page paper. Thus far we have come to a closing about the date and source of the individual books of the New Testament, but another questions remains unanswered. We can ask ourselves, how did the New Testament itself come into being? Who collected the writings and on what ideology? What conditions led to the creations of a canon, of trustworthy books? Throughout history Christian’s belief is that the Holy Spirit, who controlled the writing of the individual books, also controlled their selection and compilation, thus continuing to fulfill our Lord’s promise that He would guide his disciples into all reality. This however, is something that is to be discerned by spiritual insight, and not by historical research. The object is to find out what historical research reveals about the origin of the New Testament canon. We have people tell us that we receive the twenty seven books of the New Testament on the mandate of the Church; but even if we do, we have to look at how the Church came to recognize these twenty-seven books as worthy of being placed on a level of encouragement and authority with the Old Testament. It took over a century of the proliferation of numerous writings before anyone was even concerned. They started to pick and choose and it was largely a cumulative, individual and accidental event, guided by chance and prejudice more than objective and scholarly research, until priests and academics began declaring what was......

Smiths Canons

...Smith was the first person to introduce a list of 4 ‘canons’ which relate to the rate, amount, method of levy and collection of tax. These are all important issues that need to be dealt with before an affective tax system can be achieved. Smith’s first canon, ‘canon of equality’ relates to how much tax people should pay. By equality he is not suggesting that everyone should pay the same amount, instead he is implying that the heaviest shoulders should bear the heaviest burden. By this he is suggesting a progressive tax system where people with higher incomes pay more. This principle gave rise to two theories, the second of which continues to lead the tax system in the UK until now. The first theory is Equality of Sacrifice Theory: Burden of taxation should involve an equal sacrifice for every individual. Good in theory but difficult to attain in practise, Sacrifice is subjective – mind and feelings of person. Difficult to measure. Also has to consider number of dependants on the earning member in family & their standard of living. The second is Ability of Faculty Theory: The rich should pay more than proportionate to their income. On this it is based that increasingly higher rates of taxation as incomes increase. Proportional taxation will not do justice. However, it can be argued that this theory can de-motivate people in progressing in their career or get into employment all together, as later discussed. Canon of Certainty – The individual should know......

Precision Optical Industry Co. Ltd. The Biblical Canon

...The Biblical Canon: The Movement, Methodologies, and People Who Influenced It Thomas Gainey CHHI 301: History of the Christian Church I February 7, 2016 Introduction In Christianity one of the key factors of its faith is the belief that the Bible is inerrant. Many great Christian leaders have expressed the importance of the Bible. Norman Geisler once stated “The inerrancy of Scripture is the foundational doctrine in which all other doctrines rest, and the Psalmist rightly said, ‘If the foundation be destroyed, then what can the righteous do?’” In his statement he expresses the truth behind the fact that the Christian faith resides on the fact that the Bible is inerrant. Interesting enough the Bible of today with its 66 books, 39 Old Testament, and 27 New Testament are very similar to the bible of the early church. In the words of Herman Ridderbos, "the history of the Canon is the process of the growing consciousness of the Church concerning its ecumenical foundation.” People have often wonder why certain books made into the Bible, but others did not. In this paper will look how we got the Bible we have today and what movements, people, and doctrines effected. Old Testament Canon The Old Testament known to Christians in the Bible is what is known to Jews as the Tanakh. This is made of the writings of the Laws, the Prophets, and the Psalms. Jesus Christ stated in Luke 24:44 “Everything must be fulfilled that is written about me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets......

The Foundation of Orthodoxy and the Canon Wk

...referred to as the formation of the canon. To begin our investigation we will need to have a sound understanding of the terminology. Our English word "canon" is a loan-word from the Latin canon, which in turn was derived from the Greek kanon. For our purposes it is important to trace the linguistic development of the term. While the Greek word kanon does occur in the New Testament it cannot be translated by "canon" in English. In each case it is more suitably translated "rule" or "standard" (2 Cor.10:13,15,16; Gal.6:16; Phil.3:16). It will be noted that all the occurrences of the word are in Paul's writings, and in none of these instances is he referring to the canon of Scripture. That was to be a much later development. Movement in this direction occurred when "in the second century in the Christian church kanon came to stand for revealed truth, rule of faith." 1 Here we are distinguishing the redemptive-historical idea of the Canon, in which we may take note of three main elements: 1. That of exclusive authority, according to the authorization of the apostles by Christ himself; 2. That of a qualitatively closed unity, according to the unrepeatable and unique character of the apostolic witness; 3. That of fixation and stabilization, according to its destination as foundation and depositum custodi of the Church. At the same time, it should be stated that this concept of the Canon cannot be harmonized with the idea that the Canon of the Church can be......
