Smoking Isnt Really Cool

...The claim of the ad is that smoking is cool, that it’s what people want to do. If you do it, your social status will begin to climb. If you were to smoke you will become the bad boy that everyone wants to be. Smoking will change your whole persona from geek to sheik. The ad depicts camel Joe, the iconic front man for the camel crusade since the brand began. In the picture he looks tuff, cool a real man’s man. His shirt cuffed with a pack of cigarettes rolled in. He has a nice car behind him with shades on his head. Arms folded over each other. This ad assumes that the way camel Joe is depicted is how everyone wants to be. The ad shows that they think that camel Joe in this way is what the population either strives to be or adores. The ad persuades the viewer not with words but with just the sight of something that they want to be. Things that they want to have, such as the nice car. The ad implies that if you smoke you can have a nice car, or a nice new persona in the fact that he looks cool, so carefree. The images portrayed in the ad give a happy carefree vibe, theres a smile on Joe’s face as well as a cigarette in his mouth, the car in the background and the arms folded across, nothing could bother him and everything is right in the picture. Basically the target audience of this ad is everyone. All people wish to be cool, everyone wants to be the guy that the population wants to be. They say bad boys get it all, so the ad portrays the one who has it all in an......

...conjunction with these methods to support accountability. Physical Tokens • • 3.5.6 Physical tokens consist of keys and unique documents such as DoD hand-carried orders. Access control methods used for single-factor personal authentication in DoD include simple physical keys, 3-plane (complex) keys, and hand-carried orders. These tokens are authorized for the protection of non-mission critical, unclassified, non-sensitive assets. Like PKI, physical tokens represent something you have. Unlike PKI, they provide a low level of assurance and are only suitable for use when protecting assets with low risk and low confidentiality level. Simple physical keys provide minimal protection and assurance, as they are highly susceptible to copying or theft. Furthermore, the locks controlled by simple physical keys, are relatively easy to compromise. Most key systems authorized for use in government facilities, use a higher security lock and key, which is harder to manipulate and use keys that are difficult to copy. A 3-plane (complex) key is one of the more secure key systems since the keys themselves are more complicated to copy, blank key stocks are not readily available to adversaries and are more difficult to counterfeit, and the locks controlled by 3-plane keys are more difficult to compromise. Organizations must purchase keying systems from authorized GSA sources only. Key control policies and procedures, that address where the blanks are strictly controlled, can also......

Copying Isn't Cool Critique

...Copying Isn't Cool In the article "Copying Isn't Cool," the author Scott Matthews (n.d.), a software developer argues that pirating copyrighted material is a serious issue today that is immoral and should be stopped. Though he is open to discussion, he argues against the system of compensation for copyright holders proposed by EFF that suggests that all downloads be taxed, claiming that it would encourage file-sharing to an extent that it becomes unstoppable. It would also compromise free speech and privacy which would go against the claimed ideologies of the EFF itself. The article was well-organized, easy to read and quite persuasive because the reasoning was good; however, it lacked sufficient evidence in some places. The author seems a fairly open minded person and this is reflected in the article. He does not have a mind-set against changing file-sharing laws but rather proposes a debate in this regard. He is fairly authoritative in voicing his opinion and has a right to do so because being a software developer himself, he is well aware of the problems faced and the losses that a digital author has to bear due to the willful ignorance of people engaging in the practice of file-sharing. His tone is quite effective in the article, and though a little informal, works to his advantage because it gives a personal touch to it that appeals to the reader, and adds on to the persuasiveness of the article. The language and vocabulary used is fairly simple and easy to read,...

Copying Isn't Cool

...Before we actually start, id like you to take a look at us today, this hour, this minute, this very second. Are we at peace with ourselves or with the individual next to us?Yes. So are we a peaceful species at heart? Yes. Don't mention the Egypt crisis please, thats a different issue and its just a minor percentage of the worlds' population. Yes throughout out history we have fought like maniacs, but are we peaceful deep inside? I think we could be, its just environmental factors or lack of knowledge in my view, like religion, race, territory, wealth and of course the natural factors like envy and jealousy, etc. We need people who can sit still and be able to smile, who can walk peacefully. We need people like that in order to save us. You are that person. I am that person. We are the peace the world needs. We are angels experiencing humanity. You wouldn't know it by current world events, but humans actually evolved to be peaceful, cooperative and social animals. Early man was not an aggressive killer nor fighter, he was a talker. It was just the natural instinct for survival. If they didn't hunt they would end up being cannibals and that's definitely not peaceful. Our intelligence, cooperation and many other features we have as modern humans developed from our attempts to out-smart the predator. Although great freedom fighters did use weapons to free life but the explicit idea and technique of non-violence evolved by Gandhiji was miraculous. Non-violence had been the...

...Argumentative Essay on Dating September 28, 2011 by jmssilverstone · No Comments · Argumentative Essay Samples In the men’s world today, a lot of the husbands still think making money is their responsibility, while housekeeping, cooking, and taking care of the children are the responsibilities of their wives, regardless if they have daily jobs or not. Therefore, women are doing a lot of extra works and accumulating a lot of stress, while the men are relaxing with beers and chips watching television. But now days some husbands are doing all the works at home, in exchange for respect and obedience from their wives when they are outside with friends. The perception of how men and women see each other from now and before time has changed drastically. Even the aspect of the dating point of view has changed. Men are out for either lust or love and usually do not mix them up. When a man is out for lust, all that he really desires from her is sex. He does not take her seriously and does not have intentions of ending up with her. He basically is just in it for fun. When a man is out for love, he will wait much longer because he desires more than just sex. He desires her. Then, one of the things a man prefers is purity. The reason why a man prefers purity is because he does have or could have feelings for her. When a man is in love with a woman and she has never been with another man, it will make him feel good. But when a man is in love with a woman and she has been with other men,...

...cool Contrast between Lebanon and Saudi Arabia Culture is one of the treasured traits the some countries carry on throughout centuries, even during our time today. However, although some countries cherish their culture and value it, humans get so caught up with their everyday life routine that they tend to forget their culture and diminish their traditions. Culture is what makes us different that everyone else. Each country has its own culture and celebrations. For example, Lebanon and Saudi Arabia are two Middle Eastern countries that share the same language. Although these countries have some similarities, there is a wide variety of differences between them when it comes to politics, tradition and religion. Both countries share a common religion: Islam. Moreso, there are plenty of other religions in Lebanon. Islam is portrayed in more strict and conservative way in Saudi Arabia. In Saudi Arabia, religion plays a huge role in culture, traditions, and even politics. Religion is used as a way of living more than just a belief. For example, religion is tied in with women’s right and politics. No matter what religion they practice, women have to be covered from head to toes even if they were tourists visiting the country. It is the law. According to the editor Tore Kjeilen, “Officially Muslims constitute 100% of the population, but considering the considerable expatriate community, 90% is a better estimate. It is the opinion of the authors that Tesla is an example of new market encroachment rather than new attribute encroachment. Compared to existing ICE automobiles the Tesla improved on core attributes, but also adds ancillary attributes. Core attribute improvements are high acceleration, high speed, bold looks and low running costs of Tesla vehicles, this combined with ancillary attributes of silent drive train, zero tailpipe emissions, convenience of never needing to visit a refuelling station and cost savings means that it is different to any ICE vehicle on offer. The vehicles also brand equity due to them being viewed as ‘cool’. This paper represents an important addition to FCV literature. Marketing approaches and market entry strategies have been largely ignored by the industry. A previous study by the authors used case studies from other market sectors to guide FCV marketing. This paper holds greater relevance than these previous case studies as it uses a case study of a disruptive innovation from the automotive sector. To the best of the authors' knowledge this is the first study that uses a case study of a disruptive automotive technology to guide the market entry of FCVs. It is hoped that this will form the foundation of future research that can be used guide the successful market entry of FCVs. Conclusions Managerial implications Academic......

Cool Is Cool

...Cool is Cool To be cool or not to be cool… That is actually the issue, which almost all teenagers live by. Cool means pretty much the same as being “in” or to be popular. Some People Thinks it is cool smoking, other people thinks skateboarding is cool. But what is cool? Is it the way you act? The way you dress? The way you talks? There are a lot of opinions about that subject, what do you think is cool? The companies do a lot to make you think that their products are cool. They pay celebrities to wear their products and make commercials. It’s different what people do to look cool, some people read fashion magazines other peoples dress like their idols and the celebrities got stylists to dress them. The most people buy the popular brands and dress like celebrities or just using special words or slang in their sentences. Some walks on a special way or have a distinct style. Cause being cool is not just the way you dress, it is also your attitude and the way you act. But being cool is different from age to age. When you are a little child it’s about having the newest toy car or Barbie-doll. As a teenager it’s about wearing the right brands, having the newest cell phone and things like that. And when you grow up it’s about having the biggest car, eating on the right restaurants and having biggest house. All the companies that makes clothes today are doing a lot to get the people think it’s they’re product that is in right now, they make commercial and thinks like that,......

This fault occurred by the cosmic rays or substrate alpha particle that can also have possibly corrupt the user data. A soft error event causes enough of a charge disturbance to reverse or flip the data state of a memory cell, register, latch, or flip-flop. [1] The error is called “soft” because the circuit/device itself is not permanently damaged by the radiation; if new data are written to the bit, the device will store it correctly. The soft error is also often referred to as a single event upset(SEU). If......

... outweighs the value of prolonging the dispute, or perhaps to allow staff to develop and learn from experience (Thomas, op.cit.). In some respects avoidance resembles accommodation. Accommodation at Don’t use ibid and op cit. Writer could have moved ‘Graham’ to position of ibid. Thomas should be given full citation to avoid reader having to refer back. least acknowledges that a conflict exists, though, whereas avoiding a conflict implies a refusal to deal it. It is not a strategy to be used readily because if the dispute has any substance then suppressing it will simply make things worse (Allred, 1987). Indeed there are probably only two instances where it is of use. First, if the conflict is trivial or secondly in order to let people cool down and allow the manager to assess the situation calmly (McGurn, 1990). Compromise has been described as a lose-lose strategy and yet still holds wide currency as an effective conflict resolution strategy (Graham, 1998). It is most likely where the conflicting parties carry equal weight and is a trade-off, with each making concessions but neither achieving its original aims. It is for this reason that the lose-lose tag applies - the conflict has not been resolved because differences are not fully explored and each side generally seeks to concede as little as possible (ibid.). Nevertheless, as a fall-back position or as a means of creating a temporary settlement to allow time for a more collaborative solution to be found, compromise can...

While staying focus on being fit, eating is also an important attribute that I need to follow. These sacrifices besides playing soccer, relate me closest to the vocation of an athlete. I see myself in the present and future not involving work that would relate to be sitting in an office job, or a job that requires you to either write or study a lot, for example, mortgage broker, lawyer. Instead, I enjoy working with hands on projects that involve more skills then thinking and investigating jobs. Such as, Heating & Air this involves installing furnaces and sheet metal to heat and cool the house. It strictly focuses on more of the labour hands on idea which I enjoy because I’m used to working hard physically and have experience from working with dad. Being athletic and hands on variety type of person can explain and give a very good explanation and idea of who I strictly am....
