Dear Friend, Those are some very good questions that you asked. I will help you to understand these issues. When looking for information the way you assess your information is very important. If you find some information and it is not reliable you end up putting information in your paper that is false and could lead to an incomplete on your grade. By knowing how to find out if the information is reliable may be hard for some so I have provided ways that I use to find out if information is credible and reliable. Some of the ways that I use to find out if the information is true or if it is false is by looking into the references that they provide on the site. By doing this I am able to go looking at the information that they used can go farther back and what information is new information. When I look for reliable sources I will see about the abstract and find out if it is on the line of what I am looking for and if the abstract is nowhere near what I am looking for I will bypass the link and move on to the next. I also look to see if it is .gov, .net, .org, .edu, etc. This gives me more information as though it is a trusted and reliable source. When you are having troubles about whether a source is reliable look in to the references that are provided and see where they got there information and that will help you out as well. The references are usually at the end of the article but also can be in the beginning of the article. The term digital divide is the difference between those who derive the benefits of Internet access and those who do not. This means that someone that has Internet access will use it when they are looking up information that they can use at any time they need to versus someone that does not have internet at home and is unable to use it when they want to and may have some issues with the internet and need help to navigate thru the…...

Friends

...It is said that a friend in need is a friend in deed. There may be many friends at the time of prosperity. But most of them desert at the time of adversity. We can examine the sincerity of a friend during our time of hardship and trouble. Only a sincere and faithful friend remains with us at the time of our trouble. All others leave us. It is very painful when our friends turn traitors. Money is an enemy of friendship. Everybody has an attraction for money. When lending or borrowing of money is done between two friends, there is great risk. Friendship may be affected. So it is wise for true friends to avoid monetary transaction. Vanity is another element which breaks friendship. Everybody has self-respect. When a person tries to criticise his friend, their friendship is affected. So friendship must be treated very delicately. Very often some hypocrites pretend to be friends. They are more dangerous than avowed enemies. By telling soft words they bring enormous ruin to us. A true friend never exploits. He rather surrenders. But at present, the meaning of friendship has changed. There are many fair-weathered friends. They terminate their friendly tie as soon as their interests are fulfilled. It is very difficult to find a true friend today. It is better to establish true friendship with either a dog or an elephant. Both these beasts will remain faithful to their human friends. Today, friendship between two persons is short-lived. Good friends exercise good influence...

Friends

...Everyone needs good friends that can hold uphold good characteristics and Christian values. The characteristics of a good friend are honesty, love, service, loyalty, and receiving. •Honesty - Will you tell me the truth? The best gift that someone can give me is honest affirmation (don’t patronize me) and honest correction. (For more on this idea read this post). Not everyone has the “right” to speak into my life this way. This right is earned by the demonstration of the second characteristic… •Love – Will you love me when I’m at the top of my game? Will you love me when I’m in a slump? Love that transcends the “seasons” of life is the “stuff” that genuine friendship is made of! Some people call this “unconditional love.” •Service - Will you help me? Friends help one another. These last few weeks we’ve been blessed by our friends who have helped with meals, prep for the yard sale, words of encouragement, babysitting, etc. To all of you, we are grateful to have friends like you. Thank you for your help. •Loyalty - Will you “stick it out” with me? Will you defend me when I’m being attacked? Will you stick up for me when I’m not there? A friend is someone who would not have to change the conversation when you walk up. •Receiving - Will you receive from me? A friendship is only as strong as the neediest friend. If you’re always helping me but I do not help you, in time you will grow weary of me! BUT when you help me, and allow me to help you we strengthen one another and......

Friend

...To everybody, friend plays an important part in our life, so topics which involve in friend become more and more common. There is a debate that whether people who have different interests and personalities cannot be friend. From my perspective, I agree that people should make friend with the people who have same interests and personalities. The first reason why I hold this view is that it must be easier for two people to communicate with each other when they have same interests and personalities. On one hand people always focus on what they are interested in, so they will catch all opportunities to understand it, including communication, on the other hand, the chat with tow people who have same interests and personalities can avoid the embarrassment of silent. I will take an example of myself. Once I went out with tow friends, one has the same interests and personalities to me, while the other has diverse interests and personalities from us. From my own feeling, I would like to talk with the former one better. Another aspect can never be ignore is that it is possible for two people with diverse interests and personalities to produce divergence and contradiction. In other words, two people with different interests and personalities may have two ideas to same things, so when they stand in an opposite opinion, their friendship perhaps confront with a big challenge, and this challenge possesses destructiveness. It is really possible to cause their friendship to be end.......

Friends

...to define the word friend became a much more complex task than it was years earlier. According to the ancient Greek philosopher Aristotle the definition of friend is "A single soul dwelling in two bodies." Aristotle wrote widely about the conception and importance of true friendship as a determinant of meaningful living. However his definition of friend is definitely not the one we are having these days through social media, the concept of personal and face to face interactions seems to be less important as time goes by and social media takes over. Social media plays a big role in our daily life; we keep in touch with our loved ones and get to know about what others are doing “enhancing” our social lives. However, this make us think about how real and meaningful is our social life on the web. The people we pretend to be on social media is not the ones we are on real life, this being one of the major issue with the modern social relationships we develop these days. When communication is not personal it can be manipulated easily, allowing the sender to direct the message just the way he intends to. Loosing emotions and meaning in the process, different that what can be seen on real conversations and interactions. Researchers of Harvard university who performed a study during 2013 based on teenagers, concluded that social media is indeed affecting the way kids look at friendship and intimacy these days. The average teenager has about 300 Facebook friends and about 79......

Friends

...Friends  Friends are people whom we turn to when our spirits need a lift. They are always by our side through thick and thin. They stand beside us even when our disposition is not perfectly right and will fight for us if we are oppressed. Therefore, it is clear that friends play a vital role in shaping who we are today. But what qualities exactly do we need to look for in a friend? A friend should always be caring towards you. He or she should take interest in your problems no matter how big or petty your problem may be. A friend should be able to sit beside you and encourage you to keep your chin up even when everyone else is against you. A friend’s empathy and lovingness will also replenish your worn-out soul and will make you realize how important a friend really is. Apart from that, a friend should be an honest person. An honest friend will dissipate any worries that he or she is lying towards you. A friend’s honesty will enable you to trust his or she’s opinion when it comes to telling you the truth about yourself. For example, an honest friend will remand you on your declining grades and will ask you to work harder while a dishonest friend will see it with a blind eye. Therefore, an overall improvement in yourself will be noticeable if you have an honest friend. Moreover, a friend should be generous both emotionally and knowledge wise. A friend who is generous ought to be able to connect with you and provide emotional support. He or she should also be......

...Rebecca McDonald 9 October 2014 Dr. Shafer English 101 Dear Andy: My friends and I are thinking of going on a LSD trip since our grandparents always speak so nostalgically of it when they were lucid. Could you give me some research on the history and effects of this enigmatic drug off the 60's? Should we do it? By the way we are in our mid- twenties. Tripping into Yesterday... Dear Tripping into Yesterday: In today’s society illegal drugs are a big, controversial topic that is talked about frequently. Whether they are trying to legalize the drug or people are getting busted for the possession of it. You have a great question, and it is good to be curious about things in life. Let me tell you a little more about LSD, more than what your grandparents know. LSD (Lysergic Acid Diethylamide) is a compound derived from lysergic acid and is used as a powerful hallucinogenic drug. The acid comes from a type of fungus that grows on grains like rye and wheat. It came about when a chemist by the name of Albert Hofmann first synthesized LSD in 1938 while looking for a blood stimulant. Although its hallucinogenic effects where not known until 1943 when he accidently ingested it. The drug was first tested on animals to ensure safety to be tested on humans. After the discovery of its extraordinary psychic effects, the substance had its first trials on animals. They were admitted into the series of experimental preparations. Most of the fundamental studies on animals were carried......

Friends

...always told me to be careful when choosing your friends and remember that not everyone is your friend. There are three different kinds of “friends” in this life. I classify them according to how well I know them and how well they know me. We encounter each of them every day, whether it be at school, home, or through social media. First, there are the "social media friends" generally known as the person behind the computer screen. Next, there are "acquaintance friends" classmates or short-term friend. Lastly, we have "best friends" our true friends. Social media sites such as Instagram or twitter have “followers” who are people behind their cellphones liking your pictures, commenting on your facebook statuses, but you do not really know who they are. You do not really talk to that person in person, this are different social media friends. Secondly, friends I call "acquaintances." This is because they are closer than your Instagram followers or facebook friends, but they nowhere near as close as your best friend. Acquaintances are usually classmates who evolve into "friends" through social media or hanging out here and there. You typically know the acquaintances name, a little of their family history, and usually have several things in common. Lastly your best friend, you probably grew up together as children. They know everything about you. Just as you know everything about them. You consider them to be like family. "A true friend will see you through when others see that you......

In a moment, I decided that we still be friend forever. I told him that no matter how he was, I still stood right by side with him and that nothing’s going to change the friendship between me and him. However, after few days, I had an embarrassed feeling whenever I hung out with him. No one know his secret, except me, because I am his best friend who he believes the most. The reason why he decided to tell me his secret is that he hoped me could understand and accept the real person of him. However, at this time, I still don’t believe and can’t accept the real one in him. Is it wrong that I’m still friendly with him? Should I be angry at Tuan? What should I do now in order to escape my awkward feeling and don’t ruin my friendship? Signed, Minh D. Dear Minh D. Thank you for sharing your thoughts. Dear

...Dear Dongmei, Thanks for your letter, and I’m happy to show you some my opinions. As far as I’m concerned, Rachel’s behavior is understandable. You know, more and more students participate in the student exchange programme, and their character, purpose and so on are different. We can’t think they’re same. In fact, everyone is different. So I think Rachel doesn’t choose integrate into Chinese culture more because of her personal reasons. Perhaps Rachel is too much shy or unconfident to communicate, or she regards Chinese as a subject, or she doesn’t have power to learn. One possibility is that she is too shy or unconfident to communicate. What’s known is that character has a great influence on people. For example, a shy person doesn’t like talk more with people who is strange. And an unconfident person usually doesn’t tell someone his idea. Besides you’re good friends. So I think maybe as a result of her character, Rachel choose not to integrate into Chinese culture. Another possibility is that she regards Chinese as a subject. In my view, if someone does a work which he has no choice, his efficiency and enthusiasm are lower than he does a work which is his favorite. If she regards Chinese as a subject, her aim possible is high grade but communicate better. So she has little enthusiasm after class and chooses not to take some activities related to local culture. Certainly, it may be because she has no power to learn. It’s known that power makes us to be better. When we do......

...Dear>>, In a few months you will be making one of the biggest adjustments of your life so far.
