I sidste strofe.

...tubes he needed just to help him breathe. It was at that moment as tears fell from both of my eyes that I vowed to help humanity by becoming a doctor; I never wanted to feel that helpless ever again. They say you have to be famous or immensely wealthy to change the world and have your voice heard, but I disagree. I believe if you can inspire one person, if you can open their mind, or if you can change one persons way of thinking, then to me, you have changed the world and made it a better place. As strange as it may seem I believe my father changed the world that day. He made me realize what truly matters now, what has never mattered in the past and what always will. Most importantly he made me realized what I wanted to do with my life. Pre med is just the first step in my plan to heal the world. I wasn’t seriously injured that day but I did leave with a scar on my left wrist. That scar is a constant reminder to me of what could have happened that day. Every day I study hard, work hard and train hard to better myself and help those around me, especially my loved ones....

...92% and pulse was 86.At 10:30pm I call the night shift R.N to follow up on the condition of the resident and he told me she was doing fine. My Other mistake was I didn't call my instructor right away. I thought it was ok to tell her the next day which was the last day of the clinical but I wrote everything on my report what happen. Also when I asked my preceptor if my instructor would be informed she said the D.O.N will report it to her as soon as she gets the incident report from us. Then in the next morning the preceptor nurse came angry she assigned me only four new patients and told me to get a urine sample form catheter of the patient I never work with, and I said never done it before but i will try if you watch me. So I went to the med room to get the syringe but I couldn’t find it. Then she went by herself to get me one and it took her ten minutes to come back to the room. While she was gone I saw a syringe on the bathroom counter top from a distance which I thought was the night shift made it ready for us, so I went to my preceptor told her about the syringe but that syringe was open and not the right one. For that reason she reported it me as I was going to use it by neglecting my sterile technic. I know how big of responsibility it is to be a nurse; it is a responsibility of life and death. I was lucky enough nothing happened to the patient I gave wrong medication, but I am sure it gave me life time lesson and hopefully it will make me a better nurse. I......

Mind over Meds

...November 6, 2013 MIND OVER MEDS MIND OVER MEDS Health By: Daniel Carlat Mind over meds, tells us how Doctor Carlat decided that his psychiatry patients needed more from him than from prescriptions. Doctor Carlat during his psychiatric interviews always thought that there was a certain rhythm to his work. He would start by listening to what his patients said for the first few minutes without interrupting all while sorting through possible diagnoses. There was one patient that made his whole rhythm change, patient J.J. He was a salesman for a struggling telecommunications company. He was having trouble managing his finances and his family. J.J’s diagnosis was generalized anxiety disorder. Dr. Carlat then prescribed him with a medicine named Zoloft. J.J was curious of why he had this disorder, so he questioned the doctor. Dr. Carlat said that he was a psychopharmacologist and specialized in medication rather than psychotherapy. Dr. Carlat then opened his eyes, his daily routine had been questioned, he did not even know his patients that well. Psychiatry for him had turned into just corralling patient’s symptoms into labels and matching a drug to the disorder. He would just ask the patients the right questions and match a medication. But, all that changed Dr. Carlat decided to take some time to get to know his patients more. He knew their sleeping habits, moods, and energy......

Med Surg Nursing

...There are eight things that I learned when reviewing the patient safety goals of 2008. The first important lesson that I learned was about improving the accuracy of patient identification. It is always important to use at least two patient identifiers when providing care, treatment or services. No matter how silly it may seem, having the correct patient is tantamount. The next patient safety goal is regarding how to improve the effectiveness of communication among caregivers. I found it to be critical to understand the proper way in which to transfer information from one person to the next. Having a standardized system for information sharing is a key part of patient safety. The third principle that I learned was in regard to improved safety of using medications. It is crucial to label medication containers, as well making an annual list of drugs that look alike or sound alike. Making sure that drugs do not get confused or mixed up is definitely going to keep patients more safe. Another concern regarding patient safety is the concept of reducing the risk of health care-associated infections. This can be achieved by maintaining a high level of hand hygiene and by closely monitoring unexpected deaths or major loss of function associated with health acquired infections. The subject of accurately and completely reconciling medications across the continuum of care is pertinent to keeping patients safe. In order to accomplish this, a process needs to be in......

Marketing Pet Meds

...Marketing 331 – Pet Meds Essay Pet Meds, an online pet pharmacy was founded in 1996 when the Internet just started becoming popular. Like many companies they saw an opportunity to keep their overhead low so they could over value to its consumers. Over the years many websites have come and gone with various levels of success. Running an Internet Business is more than throwing up a website and hoping people will come and buy from you. The same marketing disciplines are needed on the internet as in brick and mortar retailers. Plus in some ways successful Internet companies need more marketing savvy and creativity. The distribution plan for Pet Meds is three fold. They sell on the Internet, have a call center where customers can call in, and they also offer their products through direct mail and print. This way they are targeting different types of customers, those that are net literate and shop online, those that still like to talk to someone when taking an order and those they like to look through a printed catalog and read about what they are thinking of buying. This approach appeals to many people, especially the Internet. The Internet is non-threatening without a lot of sales pressure. People can browse and compare at their leisure. One of the nice perks Pet Meds has on its website is a lot of articles so customers can become more informed on a particular disease or condition. This is a great marketing strategy. Pet owners they may be researching a disease could end up......

...1.            What signs and symptoms (S/S) will you look for in a patient receiving IV ciprofloxacin? Signs and symptoms to look for in a patient receiving IV cipro would be to ensure the patient isn’t have an allergic reaction. You would want to monitor their respirations to make sure they are not having difficulty breathing. You do not want to see any swelling or hives. 2.            What is the association between M.Z.'s urinary tract infection (UTI) and the organism found in her urine culture? E. Coli is typically found in BM. M.Z. might need education on how to properly clean so that a future infection does not occur. 3.            The CNA comes to you to report that M.Z. is picking at her IV and asks if she can apply wrist restraints. How should you respond? Before applying any restraints I would go in and talk to M.Z. and find out what about the IV is bothering her to see if I can make her more comfortable so that she stops picking at it. Since she has been having increased confusion she is probably frightened that she is in the hospital and most likely doesn’t fully understand what is going on. Applying restraints would further frighten her make her feel more uncomfortable. 4.            The CNA reports that M.Z.'s 8-hour intake is 520 ml and the output is 140 ml. Is this significant? Identify two possible reasons that could account for the difference and explain how you would assess each.M.Z.’s output is low. We need to increase her input, which will also help......

Fritt Fall Med Tempograf
