1. It definitely isn’t ethical to sell a product that is not completely effective. Nevertheless, many companies around the world sell products that do not necessarily comply with what the offer, or with what is stated on their labels or their ads. I always think of hand soap that says “antibacterial” on their label but they just make foam. To me, that’s not ethical, but it is definitely profitable. 2. I do think it is unethical to negatively influence cultural ideals through advertising, but don’t think it is unethical to promote products based on cultural norms as long as they are effective, and they do not denigrate people. I think it would be very difficult to successfully enter a market and have growing profits if a company is offering products that do not abide to their cultural norms. In fact, many multinationals offer different products based on cultural preferences. For instance. McDonald’s have a different menu in China that the one the have in the U.S. 3. I think the fair and lovely advertising is demeaning to women. It influences peoples mind in a way that it makes dark skin women to loose their dignity for not being valued and respected. Showing in an ad a woman with darker skin, locking professional opportunities or personal satisfaction is more than likely going to lower a person’s self esteem if they fall into that category. 6. A better promotional program will be to show in their ads that their products can enhance a woman’s beauty, since it actually seems to improve the skin’s appearance. Having women of different skin tones with beautiful skin would be a better way of promoting the product. ...The goal of this research paper is to show the impact that demographic factors have on student retention at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (Daytona Beach). Our school has tried its best to improve its retention numbers these past ten years by implementing diverse programs geared towards keeping students in school. These programs were built using data provided by the Institutional Research department (IR) on our campus; the IR wishes to see whether student variables can predict retention. This document analyses the data collected from the IR and recent research related to individual student demographic characteristics such as gender, nationality and majors. I was born in San Francisco but raised in Senegal, a francophone West African country. I attended a French school and a bilingual one during my time there because my parents wanted me to be fluent and proficient in their languages (my mother’s first language is English and my dad’s is French). My background can only be beneficial into conducting such a research. I, for one, definitely understand the repercussions that demographics can have on a society or, in this case, a University. Anyone that knows a little bit about our campus can give at least three facts about it: the ratio of boy to girl is pretty big (5 to 1); the two main colleges are the Aviation and Engineering ones(76% altogether); and there are lots of international students (16% of student body). Review of Literature: Colors may just seem simple and unimportant, but they affect our daily lives more than we may know. If someone is feeling angry, it could just be because they’re angry, or it could be perhaps that they are surrounded by or looking at the color red. That’s right! People’s moods can change just because they are looking at different colors! There are many theories on how just a simple color can change one’s whole mood. According to Johnson (2007), color does affect mood by producing certain chemicals and stimulating different feelings such as hunger. For example, blue can make one feel calm because it releases calming chemicals, and red can make one hungry because it is an appetite stimulant. Yellow can make one feel irritated, and it is a fact that people lose their temper most in yellow rooms. However, pink is tranquilizing and can make one feel weak. Through her observation of students, studies, and talking among her colleagues she came across many details that answered her critical question. From the start, Reda knew that the students who were unspoken in class had a background involved with racism, sexism, and classism but she didn’t know how big of a role it played until she conducted her study. It tracks students who took part in a measurements of technical abilities study fifteen years ago. The researcher had no previous knowledge of the test subjects' current employment status, but in favorable circumstances, these test subjects are now professionals in the field of technology. The aim of this research was to examine how technological competence was attained during the test participants' lives. This follow-up study was carried out as a qualitative case study. Data from interviews with three participants were tape-recorded and translated. The research data were then analyzed using content analysis. The analysis was carried out by assessing which of the essential elements in the participants technological competence contributed to success in their lives. These findings were later classified in terms of themes or factors and, finally, reported in the conclusions. The results from each participant interview are shown in a competence curve, which are explained in more detail. The competence curves indicate each person's development in technological competence during their life. There are several milestones connected to physical developments in early as well as middle childhood.
