After Thirteen years of finishing an A.S. Degree in Interior Design, I feel the need of going back to college to increase my knowledge to be able to keep up the busy world and with my own personal expectations and goals. It is a big responsibility and commitment that I am getting into after having started a family. It is definitely different to start again but there is so much competition, and salary differences based on education levels and opportunities that one needs to be prepared with a bachelor’s degree to obtain the best no matter what your age is. I made the great decision of starting a B.S. in Business because it is important to me to be qualified for a productive job and to obtain the knowledge necessary to run a business properly. In order to be successful in life you have to be secure and feel comfortable with yourself and with your capability. I want to be independent and achieve success and be competitive. Therefore, I have a strong belief that a college degree enables people to demonstrate they have what it takes to finish what they start. Having a higher level of education increases the opportunity of having a higher income. Having a family, the expenses are higher between doctors appointments, mortgage, insurance , school expenses and much more money is never enough to keep all the expenses . So for sure having a bachelors degree its one the way to assure a higher income It’s not the same having only a high school diploma that having proper qualifications for a specific area of interest. Opportunities, job offers and salary vary based on the academic accomplishments and skills people have. What ever your age is, never it’s too late to start college. Your desire, your dreams and your wants to do it will be enough to complete your goal . In my case, I am 42 and I want to increase my wisdom, be a better person…...

I was never a straight “A” student, but I always pushed myself. I graduated from high school and went on to my first year of college. Completed that year and got married and had kids. Now many years later here I am back in school. I have grown a lot over the years. When I look back I regret not finishing school at that time, in life I don’t want to have any regrets. The early childhood profession is not for the faint of heart or the passive individual. (Josue Cruz Jr. 2008) As a mother of three I am used to being with kids and how tough it can be. So when I kind of stumbled upon my job I wasn’t sure if it was truly for me, but I decided go for it. I remember walking into the infant room my first day of work and jumping right in, at the end of the day I came home and told my husband. “I’m meant for this. This is what I want to do.” Now a few months later I am enrolled in college to achieve my degree in Early Childhood Education. So when asked why college education is important to me. ...Andrea Scharen EN110.6.4 “Why College Education is important to me?” College education to me holds the key to a successful career and a brighter future. I chose to go to college right out of high school because I knew I wanted a future in what I love and I already knew what I had to plans to do. I also knew that I couldn’t do what I wanted to do without a college education. I believe without a college education you can only really get a basic job. With a college education, you are more likely to become financially stable in the long run. Having a college or higher education can also equip a person with better life skills and improves an individual’s quality of life. Ever since I was little, I knew I wanted to work with children. As I got older I figured out that I wanted to be a teacher. As I hit high school I contemplated even going to college because I was told you can be a basic pre-school teacher without a college education. Though I did not want to just be a basic teacher and I took into consideration that later in life I might want to teach a little older. So I decided a college education was important to have so I can do what I planned. Without a college education you are limited to a basic job. Although with a high school education you may secure a job with good benefits but even that is limited to jobs in service, manufacturing, and construction industries. The argument to that statement is with a college education you can enter a higher level career with a......

...2014 Why College Education Is Important To Me Growing up I did not see a college education in my future due to its price tag. As my parents brought home just enough money every week to get by, I decided during the 11th grade in high school that I would rather work and make money than stay in school. I left school, received my G.E.D. a year later, all while working a full time job at the neighborhood pizzeria. A few years had passed, I landed a better job in an office setting as a typist. After working there for a little over 5 years, I realized this is not what I want to do for the rest of my life. Being a typist was something I was good at; however, I yearned for something bigger and better. I tried several times to find another job, but there seemed to be one obstacle in my way, these better jobs required more than a G.E.D. or High School Diploma, they required a college degree. After several turn downs, careful thought, and consideration, I decided it was time for me to give this whole college thing a try. By this time I am now 26 years old with a 2 year old son, how am I possibly going to go to school and have time to study while being a stay-at-home mother? That’s when I started researching what opportunities were out there for me besides the standard college education. This is where I discovered “Distance Learning” with Ashworth College. Here I am a little over a decade later going for my college education. During the last 11 years, I have learned that a college......
